Sense
Earlier stage of the performance “Together being alone”.
Reflect
Where do feel in your body when you watch art?
What is your boundaries?
How does your voice sound like?
When can you relate to art?
Is it something that you can not play with?
When do you wear a mask?
How do you make a decision?
When do you challange yourself?
What do you do, when you can not let go?
What do you do, when you're confused?
Are you searching for a new path?
How can you be a good human without getting tired?
Is reflection art?
How would you like to interact with art?
Is your own reflections art?
Interaction is not always about physical and direct interaction between «you» and «me». Interaction can be inviting you to answer questions were you have to put yourself in context. Inviting you to reflect. Inviting you to do something. Inviting you to think about something. I am interacting with you as a host that holds this space for you.
The questions I ask you, is questions that come from my personal reflective writing. I have written over 200 notes on my phone during the MA in Devised Theatre and Performance. All about my personal blockages, transformations and my artistic voice.
Reflective writing and personal inquiry, is what I bring into my art. I can start a creative process with a reflection I have about a topic. I often reflect about my work before, during an after a process. I write performative with asking questions to the audience.
Reflection for me is about connection and intimacy. When I am reflecting with other people, I am the most connected with others. This is because I am vulnerable and honest. I often find that «my» problems is something others can relate too, and vice versa. Then from being alone with my own suffering, it becomes universal. This is why I find it important to bring reflection into my art.
Play
A game for 6 people, 6 pieces of carpet and one pair of shoes.
Would you like to play, even though we are in different spaces?
This is material to the performance “HERE THERE”. A collaboration with Shai Cohen, Ashley Willison, Marie Güsewell, Mark Peterson, Julien Eckardt and Sarah Hensley. We explored different spaces and how to be together in different spaces. The six of them where in Berlin, and I was in Scandinavia. We created a game where I guided them in different public spaces. I would like to take this further in my work with creating a guided play for audience.
